ITB participates at BIBB roadshow "Digital Media in Everyday Training" with "Kompetenzwerkstatt"

The Institute Technology and Education (ITB) of the University of Bremen is presenting the training portfolio of the "Kompetenzwerkstatt" (i.e. competence workshop) in so-called "user workshops" as part of the "Digital Media in Everyday Training" roadshow initiated by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB). The web-based training portfolio serves to support learning reflection and at the same time offers an online training certificate. The user workshops are conducted in cooperation with the Institute for Technical Education and University Didactics (ITBH) of the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg.

This initiative is taking place against the background that digitisation poses new challenges for training personnel and trainees. Numerous professions and training courses are undergoing a transformation process. New skills are needed to keep pace with this development and make vocational education and training more attractive and competitive. Adaptation of the technical and organisational framework conditions at the learning location is also necessary. In this context, the BMBF is funding the development of digital teaching and learning concepts with its "Digital Media in Vocational Education and Training" programme.

Three selected projects from the funding measure will be presented as part of the BMBF roadshow "Digital Media in Everyday Training". In interactive user workshops, those responsible from VET practice learn about concrete applications of digital media and are given the opportunity to test the concepts presented themselves. In 2018, the BMBF Roadshow will present the best practice case studies Kfz4me, the training portfolio of the Kompetenzwerkstatt and Social Virtual Learning.

Further information in German on the roadshow "Digital Media in Everyday Training" as well as details on the training portfolio and the competence workshop can be found under the link on the right-hand side.
