Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaften für Berufsbildung in den Fachrichtungen Elektrotechnik, Informationstechnik, Metalltechnik und Fahrzeugtechnik e. V. (BAG)

Scope and organisation

Each year, the federal working groups organise conferences on various topics at different locations. Within the conference „Hochschultage Berufliche Bildung“ they organise the symposia on electrical engineering and metal technology.

Their aim is to further develop vocational education and training at all levels in electrical engineering, information technology, metalworking and automotive engineering. Its member organ, the journal "lernen & lehren" ("Learn & Teach") of the BAG ElektroMetall e. V. (Federal Working Groups for Vocational Education and Training in the Faculties of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Metal Technology and Automotive Engineering) is an important tool for this, enabling discourse to take place in a broad professional public, a journal for all those who work in in-company training, vocational schools, universities or adult education, administration or trade unions in the occupational groups of electrical engineering, information technology, metal technology and automotive engineering. It also regularly provides important information for BAG members relating to current developments in the fields of study. It provides materials for teaching and training as well, and alternately considers focal topics from electrical engineering and information technology on the one hand, and metal technology and automotive engineering on the other. Cross-occupational focuses are always found when there are important didactic developments in vocational education and training that are expected to have a noticeable impact on in-company and school implementation.

The office of the BAG ElektroMetall e. V. is located in the ITB, represented by the managing director Brigitte Schweckendieck and the treasurer Michael Sander. First chairman is Prof. Dr. Thomas Vollmer from the University of Hamburg.
