HORST is here. An industrial robot for the ITB

HORST has found its way into the ITB garage. The industrial robot is now ready for use and will support the ITB in research and teaching.
Industrial robot HORST

The industrial robot plays an important role in the ongoing transformation of the ITB's automotive workshop into a broad-based mechatronics workshop. HORST stands for "Highly Optimized Robotic Systems Technology". It is a 6-axis jointed-arm robot from fruitcore robotics with a reach of 905 mm and a maximum payload of 5 kg. The robot is mounted on a mobile base so that it can be moved wherever it is needed. It is suitable as a demonstrator in a broad spectrum from mechanics to computer science and is used in research and teaching. In compliance with industrial standards, HORST enables the realistic simulation of processes that can be found in today's production facilities. In the future, HORST will interact with other machines. The robot has already been equipped with an industrial camera, for example, which provides it with the position of components. In the future, HORST will be combined with a 3D printer and will also interact with the laser marker. HORST also expands the equipment available for teaching projects.
