Research stay in Verona: building a network of pioneers in adult and vocational education on the use of artificial intelligence

From 9 August to 15 September, Lisa Meyne and Christine Siemer set up their office at the University of Verona in the Department of Work and Organisational Psychology at the Faculty of Human Sciences.
L. Meyne and Ch. Siemer in Verona

Through the exchange with international colleagues Prof Riccardo Sartori, Dr Marco Perini and Dr Francesco Tommasi, both sides were able to gain an insight into the use of artificial intelligence in adult and vocational education in both Italy and Germany as part of the AI Pioneers project.

The regular scientific exchange with Dr Francesco Tommasi was particularly valuable. Discussions focussed on tools, applications and best practices of artificial intelligence in the field of adult education and vocational education and training. At the same time, the development, analysis and consolidation of network structures in the AI-Pioneers project were discussed and a survey instrument for recording the social network of AI-Pioneers was piloted through regular feedback loops.

The research stay in Verona made it possible to learn from each other's different perspectives, methods and approaches. At the same time, it was possible to broaden one's own perspective on a common field of research. New collaborations were established between the University of Verona and Bremen, the added value of which will be reflected in joint publications in the future.
