First schools awarded with label “Project-oriented School“

On November 7th, the label "Project-oriented school" celebrated its premiere in Berlin. A total of four schools in the state of Berlin, three vocational and one general education school, were awarded as project-oriented schools resulting from an intensive pilot phase. The concept was developed in cooperation of the expert group "Projectmanagment for Schools“ (Projektmanagement macht Schule) of the GPM German Project Managemet Association (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Projektmanagement e. V.) and the Berlin Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family.

The award ceremony was moderated by Anne Hoffmeister (Senate Department) and conducted by State Secretary Christina Henke and GPM President Prof. Peter Thuy (GPM).

More than 100 participants attended, addressed were mainly head teachers, deputy head teachers and quality officers. The event was framed by various workshops. Implementation-related formats reported on the pilot phases from the schools' point of view, and content-related offerings in the area of project management were also carried out with a focus on organizational development.

The Institute for Technology and Education (ITB) was represented by Dr. Kristina Kühn, who is also active in the "Projektmanagement macht Schule". Her workshop was titled "Integrating quality management and strategy development for targeted school development".

Due to the great and positive response, the label "Project-oriented school" is going into the next round.
