F.IT meets "Hack4Ladies": Promoting women in IT through innovative engagement

The F.IT Women in IT project took part in "Hack4Ladies". The women's hackathon, organised by the Lenze Group, took place from 5 to 7 May at the Digital Hub Industry Bremen and aimed to get girls and young women interested in the field of IT. During the hackathon, participants worked in teams on sponsored challenges. The developed prototypes and concepts were then presented on stage and the best ideas were rewarded with cash prizes.

The F.IT project team enriched the diverse agenda of the hackathon with an app-based scavenger hunt and accompanied its own team, consisting of students from the Utbremen School Centre, through the hackathon. In an interview with the organisers, F.IT addressed the girls and women directly: " STEM professions are wonderfully exciting and diverse, it's really worth taking the plunge". (Valerie Ambrosi, F.IT project team).
