On 6–7 November 2025, the second meeting of the project ‘Artificial Intelligence as VET Teacher Assistant (VETAssIst)’ took place in Subotica (Serbia).
The meeting was very constructive, with any remaining uncertainties being cleared up so that piloting of teaching units on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in vocational schools in Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia and Germany can begin in December 2025.
The journey there, however, was impressive: Not only does the train between Szeged (Hungary) and Subotica (Serbia) only run every 4 hours, it also takes more than 1.5 hours to cover 40 km, including about 45 minutes at the border. The added value of EU freedom of travel (Schengen) sadly only becomes apparent when it is like Interrail in the 1980s …
