  • TEACH-VET – Platform for self-assessment and development of the teaching competence for VET teachers and trainers

    The project targets to design systematic instruments and measures for the development of teaching competence of VET teachers and trainers. These instruments are aimed to solve existing systemic problems and shortages in this field. The instrument for on-line self-assessment and development of the teaching competence of VET teachers and trainers is expected to make the processes of recruitment, selection and induction of educators in the field of VET more smooth, transparent, and effective. This instrument should also facilitate improvement of work-based learning by making the acquisition and development of pedagogic competence more easy and accessible for the trainers in enterprises.

The sector chosen for this project is the footwear industry.

  • Workforce Skill Formation and Innovation at the Shop-Floor Level in China

    The project will conduct internationally explorative research on VET that goes beyond the boundaries of the familiar national and European context and inquires into the as yet unresearched practice of “skill formation” in German firms at the “shop-floor level” in the international context of firms operating outside Europe.

    Phase II concentrates on the concretization of the discussion that a binational comparative study in the form of a benchmark is further detailed and carried through. It will be aimed to identify the conformities and the differences in the training of car mechatronics in the automotive industry in both countries. Another question to clarify is whether any differences in the training quality could be identified. The methodological approach for the comparison is based on comparative indicators.

    The "ANKOM" project develops and tests procedures for crediting professional knowledge, skills and competences in higher education courses.
