BiMechCop – Anbahnung einer Bildungskooperation Deutschland/USA

Since September 2010, binational meetings with state‐employed, regional and local experts in education have been held to initiate a German‐American educational cooperation in Germany and the USA. After several journeys to the USA and further talks between the partners in May 2011 in Cologne, project structures are now being considered and options for funding for a binational research cooperation are being examined.

Questions with regard to qualification programs and the qualification of car mechatronics for the car industry are in the center of interest during these consultations. There are first more concrete ideas for a binational comparative study on the training of car mechatronics in both countries. The automotive industry will be involved as well as AMTEC, the Colleges, DEKRA, BIBB and ITB. Focus is above all on the transnational compatibility of qualificational profiles and curricula for car mechatronics as well as the need for qualification in the light of the further technical and workorganisational development. Another common issue of interests is the development of transnational qualification and competency standards.
