PoR – Poetries of Resistance and Hope: Poetic and Aesthetic Forms of Resistance in Marginalized Communities in Germany

The project “Poetries of Resistance and Hope” examines poetic and audiovisual forms of expression produced by marginalized communities in Germany, with a particular focus on communities affected by racism and ableism. It explores how poems, spoken-word performances, and audio and video installations , especially those circulating through digital and social media, can constitute educational spaces of refusal, resistance, hope, and the imagination of alternative presents and futures. The project aims to make these media-based and aesthetic practices visible as forms of social and political engagement and to investigate their counter-hegemonic educational potential. To this end, a text and image archive will be established and selected materials will be examined through discourse analysis. At the same time, the study will provide empirical and conceptual foundations for a larger externally funded research project.
