The agenda included panel discussions and presentations. The conference programme was designed by higher education lecturers, but also by students and representatives of Polish and European associations and committees (e.g. European Higher Education Area (EHEA) or Council of Europe).
The event focused on the question, how universities can shape the "third mission", i.e. the interface between university and society, and how they will shape it in the future. The content of the contributions therefore presented examples from current practice in promoting social competence among students and teachers in various countries. Panel discussions and keynote speeches, which emphasized the importance of social competence for society at national and European level, framed the event.
It became clear that many of the actors combine social competence and social commitment against the background of the "third mission" of higher education institutions. In this context, it was discussed how students can develop the competences necessary for social engagement, which make them capable of acting in a rapidly changing labour market and changing life circumstances.
