2. Vocational Competence Research

Professional Work Processes and Fields of Activity, Assessment of Skills, Occupations and Fields of Occupations, Competence-Oriented Curricula and Exams, Early Recognition of Qualification Needs
A characteristic feature of this research field is the examination of professional work processes and professional fields of action, including their change. In particular, this involves analysing and describing which skills skilled workers currently must have and which they need in the future in order to be successful in their profession. These analysis results form the basis for the design of occupations and the development of competence-oriented curricula and examinations on one hand and for early identification of qualification needs on the other. Depending on vocational training systems, sector analyses and case studies (companies, educational institutions, etc.) may also be required.
