Project "LIKA 4.0 – Digitally supported, cooperative learning on behalf of customers" completed

The objective of the LIKA 4.0 project was to develop, test and consolidate digitally supported work process and competence-oriented training for company trainers in the plumbing, heating and air conditioning and electrical engineering trades. The joint project with a training provider for the skilled trades, 13 skilled trades companies from the electrical and plumbing, heating and air conditioning trades, an IT partner and the ITB has now been completed after four years.

At the core of the project, a digitally supported training program was developed and implemented for the target group of company trainers, centered on the order- and competence-oriented training concept "Learning in the Customer Order" (LIKA). The LIKA concept is based on typical work and business processes in the skilled trades sector - i.e., customer orders - and focuses on complete work processes and professional competencies in order to link learning and work and provide digital support in the LIKA 4.0 context. To support the company implementation of a digitally supported LIKA training, a so-called LIKA training management system was developed and tested. With the help of the web-based LIKA training management system, trainers can create learning and work tasks and pass them on to trainees, as well as keep an eye on their training status through competence checks. The LIKA training management system also gives trainees the opportunity to document their learning experiences at the learning sites and to maintain their report portfolio online.

Due to the Corona pandemic, the LIKA training course for company trainers in the skilled trades, which was created to implement the LIKA concept and to learn how to use the LIKA training management system, had to be conducted entirely online. The resulting documentation is available for the transfer and continuation of the project content.
