Further training for nursing teachers

As part of the SteBs project, a series of further training courses for teachers in the field of nursing is being carried out in cooperation with the "Landesinstitut für Schule" (LIS). The project management is located at the Institute of Technology and Education (ITB), the work package for these further training courses at the Institute of Public Health and Nursing Research (IPP).
Training in the SteBs project

In 2021, numerous teachers from Bremen, Bremerhaven and the surrounding area attended training courses on the conception of learning situations, teaching units and written examinations, especially for generalist nursing training. In addition, a regular exchange forum for teachers of nursing was initiated, which is currently offered for 3 hours every 10 to 12 weeks and alternates between online and face-to-face format.

The final training in winter 2021 was the training "Supporting situation-oriented teaching with digital media in nursing education" in November at the LIS (see photo) and the exchange forum on written examination questions in December in online format. The training courses were designed and conducted by Prof. Dr. Ingrid Darmann-Finck and Andreas Baumeister, M.A., (both Department of Qualification and Curriculum Research at IPP). In addition, Dr Claudia Schepers and Dr Johanna Krawietz from the IPP project CAROplusONKO were invited as guest speakers.

In 2022, the staff of the SteBs project will offer further training courses on a variety of methods in nursing teaching and on collegial counselling in nursing training. As the events are funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the joint "Quality Initiative for Teacher Education" by the Federal Government and the Federal States, participation is free of charge for teachers from the state of Bremen.
