DUAL ECOsystems project meeting on evaluation of good practices in partner countries in Bergamo

The project “DUAL ECOsystems – EU Alliances for ICT” is coming to an end soon. During the project good practices in local dual systems of the project partners have been identified and evaluated in terms of success factors (quality of VET pathways, effective use of work-based-learning methods, efficient skills certification system and increase of employability rate). Partners observed, shared and every partner adopted 1-2 of the good practices for their local "ecosystem".

In the case of ITB, a Basque approach called “TKgune” was chosen and successfully run within the project. In TKgune, VET-teachers are contracted by SME companies to work together in research centers in order to resolve company related latest challenges. Good practice elements from TKgune are:

  • “Closer link between companies and VET-schools“
  • “Update of teachers knowledge on industry trends“
  • “Solving of company problems”
  • “Bringing industry trends through teachers into the curricula of schools“
  • As the ITB trains future teachers, the project was adopted in a way, that participants were teacher students instead of teachers who worked together with a company during a chosen and adjusted university seminar. By the end of the seminar students presented their ideas to the company and created learning and work tasks which were handed over to the company. Apart from that, students can use them for their classes or share them with colleagues once they teach at a VET-school in order to bring industry trends into curricula.

During the project meeting in Bergamo, all partners presented the results of their implementations and decided on the layout of the handbook “Good practices and methods for effective Dual ECOsystems”, which is going to be finished and disseminated by all partners soon.
