In addition to the binding nature of the location, the binding nature of participation is also an outstanding aspect of the so-called "Boat Conference". No one is just a participant, but all players make an active contribution.
The ITB was represented by Vivian Harberts, Valerie Ambrosi, Susanne Peters and Kristina Kühn. Their contributions focused on "Dropout in vocational education and training: Risk factors and guidance measures to avoid it. A comparative survey of the countries Germany, Portugal and Spain" (Harberts & Galdames Calderón), "SME’s training strategies in Greater Shanghai Area" (Peters & Schmees) and "Attracting Women to the IT Sector: Heterogeneous Target Groups as a Challenge in Continuing Vocational Educational Training" (Kühn & Ambrosi). The selection of papers is representative of the variety of research areas presented at the conference.
Last but not least, the organizers Lázaro Morena Herrera, Marianne Teräs and especially Janne Kontio (Stockholm University) have made it their mission to provide a platform for emerging researchers to grow into the community. A great approach!
We look forward to the X Stockholm International Conference of Research on Vocational Education and Training in May 2026! Further information on the conference can be found via the link in the blue box.
