AI Pioneers attended a congress at the ITECH Elbinsel Wilhelmsburg vocational school in Hamburg

On 9 May, Ludger Deitmer, Frieda Klaus and Christine Siemer from the Institute Technology and Education (ITB) at the University of Bremen visited the beautiful Hanseatic city of Hamburg as part of the Erasmus+ project AI Pioneers and took part in the one-day congress ‘Shaping tomorrow's school today’ at the vocational school ITECH Elbinsel Wilhelmsburg with a workshop on the topic of ‘Ethical questions on the use of AI in vocational education - Towards an evaluation scheme as an ethical guideline’.

The workshop centred on specific case studies on the use of artificial intelligence in various educational contexts. Using these examples, the participants worked in small groups to systematically develop operational and pedagogical considerations on the use of AI, guided by the evaluation schema for AI in education on data, data protection, ethics and EU values developed as part of AI Pioneers.

In addition to the content-related work, the conference also provided space for dialogue and networking, enabling valuable contacts to be made. We would like to thank ITECH for an exciting and informative event.
