CESynergy project meeting in Lisbon

Our first face to face consortium meeting took place from 17.-19.03.25 in the beautiful city of Lisbon, hosted by Instituto Superior Técnico (Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal), the largest Portuguese university. We were joined by our project partners: Politechnika Śląska (Poland), Gebze Teknik Üniversitesi (Turkey), Training 2000 (Italy), Instytut Innowacji i Odpowiedzialnego Rozwoju INNOWO (Poland), and the University of Bremen, represented by Myrthe Reinsberg and Dr Andreas Saniter.

One of the critical challenges we face in the green energy transition is the growing scarcity of essential minerals - such as lithium, cobalt, and rare earth elements - required for renewable technologies like solar panels, wind turbines, and electric vehicles. This shortage highlights the need for resource efficiency, circular economy practices, and exploring alternative materials to support sustainability.

To address this, CESYNERGY is tackling a significant education gap. By providing comprehensive knowledge about material consumption in the energy transition context, the project aims to equip future engineers and decision-makers with the tools they need to make informed, sustainable choices and contribute effectively to the green energy movement.

Through the development of Circular Economy Pathways for the Energy Transition, we’re offering courses tailored to various levels of expertise, ensuring that learners at all stages of their educational journey can benefit from the content.
