Digital technologies are changing work processes, job profiles and learning requirements – and thus also presenting vocational school teachers with new challenges. In order to systematically and practically integrate digital innovations such as virtual reality (VR) and collaborative robotics (cobots) into vocational education, prospective teachers need the appropriate didactic knowledge and application skills.
The DIVE IN project was launched on 11 July 2025 with a joint kick-off meeting of all funded project consortia in Wuppertal. During the meeting, a wide range of project approaches to the digitalisation of vocational education and training were presented, focusing on innovative teaching formats and digital technologies. In an open and collegial exchange, the participants discussed how digital learning opportunities can be designed effectively, how the role of teachers can be further developed, and how digital content can be embedded in training practice in the future.
