The workshop gave the children the chance to immerse themselves in the world of artificial intelligence (AI) in a fun way. Together, they explored how AI works, what tasks it can perform and where it can be found in people's everyday lives. The children not only acquired theoretical knowledge, but also shared their own experiences with AI and considered what an AI could look like that is specifically designed based on their own strengths and talents.
A highlight of the workshop was the introduction to the world of generative AI ‘ChatGPT’. In a quiz, the children came up with tricky and funny questions that both they and ChatGPT answered. After the AI had given its answers, the children discussed which answer was the best and awarded points for it. This not only made for exciting discussions, but also for lots of laughter and surprises.
At the end of the workshop, the big question was: ‘Who is smarter - AI or humans?’ The children were unanimous: humans are smarter because AI was created by humans. It also depends on which question is asked. They also emphasised that AI is still learning and is far from knowing everything
As a great end to the workshop, the children used the AI to generate a picture that creatively depicts them and the workshop.
Our conclusion of the workshop: The children are the AI pioneers of the future.
