Girls' Day at the ITB

On 25 April, the ITB once again took part in Girls' Day to offer schoolgirls in the seventh and eighth grades the opportunity to gain an insight into various professional fields and get to know the manufacturing processes of 3D printing and laser marking. In the morning, the focus was on 3D printing and how an idea can be turned into a real object: after a brief introduction to the manufacturing method and the design process, it was up to the students to create their own 3D designs on a PC, which were later printed on site.
Laser marking on Girlsday 2024

In the afternoon, the topic of laser marking was introduced: After a demonstration of the process, the students had the opportunity to get creative and design the look of a small metal plate, which was later marked with a laser marker. This plate was then integrated as a lid into a 3D-printed box to give the students a personalised memento to take home.

We are proud to have made a small contribution to the promotion of women in STEM subjects and look forward to continuing to offer such events in the future to support and inspire the next generation of talented young women.
