Change of perspective - Understanding networks and making relationships visible - Participation in the DGNet Methodology School 2025

From October 6 to 8, 2025, Dr. Christine Siemer from the ITB took part in this year's methodology school of the German Society for Network Research (DGNet), which was held in the idyllic setting of Thurnau Castle (University of Bayreuth).

An in-depth introduction to network research by PD Dr. Marcus Gamper (University of Cologne) was followed by an intensive workshop on “Quantitative Analysis of Longitudinal Network Data with RSiena” led by Dr. Heike Krüger (RWTH Aachen University/University of Cologne) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Steffen Triebel (Aarhus University). The methodology course not only provided valuable methodological insights, but also important impetus for the application of social network analysis (SNA) in vocational education and training research.

A big thank you goes to Daniel Reupke, Heike Krüger, Norbert Luttenberger, Melanie Nagel and Prof. Christian Stegbauer for the great organization!
