The FLAME project was launched in January 2024 together with the Hamburg Firefighter Training Academy and addresses the restructuring of "modern and efficient fire department career training" (FLAME).
Access to operational specialist work via work process analyses enables practical insights in order to increasingly focus on and reflect on the connection between vocational training and the world of work. Referring back to the results of the work process analyses, which were carried out during six visits in May and June, represents a good opportunity to use real situations and challenges of practical work as a starting point for conceptual elaborations in the FLAME project.
During the visits to the fire stations, the aim was to experience everyday fire department life as realistically as possible and to gain as broad an insight as possible into the various operational situations of the fire and rescue service. Over the course of the three-year research and development project, further fire station visits are planned in Hamburg.
