KIWI – Artificial Intelligence for Customized Training and Further Education to Strengthen Employability with Progressive Digital Penetration of Production in the Context of Industry 4.0

In the KIWI project, an application for smartphones is being developed for employees in production that enables a cross-platform search for precisely matching training and further education offers with the help of artificial intelligence. Due to digitalization and the associated increase in automation, production is subject to rapid change, which is also going hand in hand with changes in requirement profiles and job profiles.

In order to support employees in this continuous dynamic process, it is particularly important that they not only participate in training and further education to maintain their employability from a company perspective, but also that they are sensitized to their own professional development and individual benefitss. The app to be developed as part of KIWI uses artificial intelligence to identify existing training and development opportunities based on previously queried individual qualifications, competencies, professional targets, and also learning strategies and preferences. In this project, the potential of digitization is not only used to search for precisely matching further education offers, but also to design them. Therefore, mobile virtual reality (mVR) is used as a learning medium in this project. In KIWI, collaborative robotics is considered as an exemplary training scenario, as it represents a key technology in the digitization process and there is a correspondingly high demand for training and further education, while at the same time insufficient target-group-specific offers exist.
