Politics

The Politics project was initiated as a participative R&D project to promote young people’s participation in politics in the context of their ‘policy studies’ curricula or in informal learning activities.

In this context the project had the particular task to promote sharing of experiences across different action contexts and participating countries with the help of Web 2.0 tools. ITB worked with a team of politics teachers at vocational schools to develop web‐based support material on the German site of the common platform http://learningaboutpolitics.eu. The material was based on seven learning pathways (Lernwege) and it covered current issues in German politics 2009‐2010 (“Superwahljahr”, “Atomausstieg/Stuttgart 21”, “Arabische Frühling”, “Internet‐Gemeinschaften”, “Integration von Migranten”, “Klimawandel”, “Juniorenwahl und Wahlbeteiligung”). This material was used and enriched in the context of the Politics Spring School 2010 in Crete ‐ a combined Grundtvig course for young adults and a Comenius course for
continuing training of (vocational) school teachers.
