WB-IBB SO – Scientific accompanying project of the BMBF funding guideline for the internationalization of vocational education and training

Problem: The BMBF as responsible resort is cooperating on the basis of bilateral agreements with selected partner countries and is moreover taking care with different instruments for the involvement of the actors responsible for vocational education into international vocational training cooperation.

Objective: The project “Scientific accompanying project of the BMBF funding guideline for the internationalization of vocational education and training (WB-IBB)” is setting the goal to record and evaluate the impacts of the funding guideline, in order to assure a basis for decision-making for continuation and further development of ministerial support activities in vocational education. The exploratory phase has prepared this project.

Research question: Which development requirements and cooperation interests actually exist in countries with special promotional interest of developments?

Research approach: Exploratory talks took place in countries with special promotional interest in Latin America (Chile, Peru, Columbia, Brazil and Costa Rica) and Africa (Namibia, Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana and Kenia). The exploratory talks are aiming to identify key partners, to elicit readiness of cooperation and to determine project needs. Furthermore, evaluation and research designs have been drafted for the preparation of the main phase of the project.

Results: Exploratory reports for each of the mentioned countries have been created and needs have been forwarded to the BMBF.
