At times, 26 participants from a total of 11 partner countries attended the hybrid meeting format.
ITB was represented by Dr Andreas Saniter and Frieda Klaus.
The focus of the meeting was on finalizing the two synthesis reports, which analyze and discuss the results from the national reports of the countries involved in the project. One report focuses on the destination countries and the second on the countries of origin of labour and economic migration. The key findings from the synthesis report on the countries of origin so far are significant labour market inefficiencies, skill mismatches, and migration-related challenges that hinder workforce sustainability and economic growth. The first comparative report is already available on the project website (link in the blue box).
In addition to the synthesis reports, the following work package has been prepared. This work package addresses the perspectives and views of the skilled migrant workers. The next surveys are planned to start in April 2025.
The project ‘Skills Partnerships for Sustainable and Just Migration Patterns (SKILLS4JUSTICE)’ is funded by HORIZON EUROPE. It aims to create an evidence base for the design of fair, effective and sustainable regular migration in the context of skills partnerships between the participating partner countries. To this end, various examples of a mismatch between skills, jobs and individual circumstances will be identified and analysed, and solutions developed.
