Das Projekt „WaBeQ – Kompetenzwerkstatt“ beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, inwieweit mit Hilfe digitaler Medien die Ausbildung von Jugendlichen mit besonderem Unterstützungsbedarf angemessen gestaltet werden kann. Hierzu werden in gemeinsamer Entwicklungsarbeit mit dem ausbildenden Personal der Waller Beschäftigungs- und Qualifizierungsgesellschaft (WabeQ) die wesentlichen Elemente des berufswissenschaftlichen Konzepts der Kompetenzwerkstatt für eine arbeitsprozess- und kompetenzorientierte sowie digital gestützte Berufsbildung entwickelt, erprobt und optimiert.

Im Zentrum des Forschungsprojekts stehen Bildungs- und Berufsorientierungsprozesse von Jungen und jungen Männern in Institutionen der ausbildungsvorbereitenden und beruflichen Bildung: Wodurch wird ermöglicht bzw. erschwert, dass junge Männer sich für soziale respektive erziehende, medizinische oder pflegende Berufe entscheiden? Das Projekt leistet einen Beitrag zu der Frage, welche Aspekte in die Bildung und Berufsorientierung von Jungen integriert werden müssten, um a) sie als potentielle Fachkräfte für die genannten Berufsbereiche (besser) erkennen zu können und um b) vorrangig durch Geschlechterstereotype bedingte, berufliche Entscheidungen zu reduzieren.

Problem: The European Research Council has provided a framework (DigCompEdu) (JRC, Redeker, Punie, 2017) including recommendations for actions regarding how to deal with digital media for the classroom of teachers of general education lessons in the European Union. The Joint Research Council Report is missing the perspective how to consider the special features of vocational education in order to make specific recommendations for actions of vocational school teachers and vocational trainers. This project is aiming to close this “gap”.

The project targets to design systematic instruments and measures for the development of teaching competence of VET teachers and trainers. These instruments are aimed to solve existing systemic problems and shortages in this field. The instrument for on-line self-assessment and development of the teaching competence of VET teachers and trainers is expected to make the processes of recruitment, selection and induction of educators in the field of VET more smooth, transparent, and effective. This instrument should also facilitate improvement of work-based learning by making the acquisition and development of pedagogic competence more easy and accessible for the trainers in enterprises.

Problem: Namibia is one of the countries with a very high inequality and a very high youth unemployment of more than 50%. The national development plan (NDP5) mentions the improvement of the vocational education structures as a main instrument in order to reduce inequality, to enable employment and in order to strengthen the regional economy. However, the knowledge regarding strengths and weaknesses as well as development needs of the vocational educational system is very low, because there is no established vocational educational research.

The digitalisation of the working world (e.g. in format of virtual working groups), mixed skills teams, flat hierarchies and decentral decision-making processes emphasise the importance of social competences as a central “Work-Enabler”. In the future working world, especially in the mechanical and plant engineering, interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral cooperation as well as working in mixed skills and heterogeneous teams will be an everyday routine.

During the Learning Layers project (EU FP7) (completed 2017) the Learning Toolbox (LTB) was developed as a digital toolbox for work process-related learning. This tool has been further developed by the LTB-developers for the presentation of ePosters on conferences. In 2017, the application has been tested for the first time during two European conferences (AMEE, ECTEL).

Problem: Germany has an established VET system. Internationally, the "dual system" in particular is held in high esteem and serves as a model for national reform processes, as it supports the achievement of various goals (including low youth unemployment, high productivity, high social integration) in a special way. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research BMBF created the funding guideline "Internationalisation of Vocational Education and Training (IBB)", which aims to combine export marketing and the promotion of international VET cooperation. Objectives: The project wb-ibb intends to record the effects of the funding guideline. Another important target is to understand and explain the challenges and conditions for success of international VET cooperation. The overarching goal is to support the internationalisation of vocational education and training through peer learning processes, among other activities in the scope of network creation and external knowledge management.

Development, testing and consolidation of digitally supported further training in the skilled trades for the work process and competence-oriented design of in-company training with the aid of a training management system.

Problem: Actual developments inside the small and medium-sized characterised logistics sector in Germany are leading to a higher competitive pressure, which leads to increasingly automatization and digitalisation strategies. The accompanying internal and external networking with different actors and work processes leads especially in operative work areas to changing competence requirements and a higher need for further training for the employees.

Anfang April 2018 erhielten zehn Berufsschulen den Zuschlag, sich für einen Zeitraum von knapp zwei Jahren intensiv mit Konzepten und Lösungen zur Digitalisierung der beruflichen Bildung, insbesondere im Kontext der Unterrichts- und Schulentwicklung, zu befassen. Ziel des von der Deutschen Telekom Stiftung ins Leben gerufenen Netzwerks „Berufsschule digital“ ist es, im Austausch der Schulen Beispiele guter Praxis zu finden, weiterzuentwickeln und über das Netzwerk hinaus zur Verfügung zu stellen. Die teilnehmenden Werkstattschulen erhalten dabei eine kontinuierliche wissenschaftliche Begleitung durch das Institut für Informationsmanagement Bremen (ifib) und das Institut Technik und Bildung (ITB) an der Universität Bremen. Die beiden Institute unterstützen im Auftrag der Deutschen Telekom Stiftung die Schulen in ihrem Werkstattprozess.

Problem: Actual developments in the small and medium-sized characterised port industry in Germany lead to a higher competitive pressure, which leads to increasing automatization and digitalisation strategies. These developments result in changes in the port industry inside of its work organisation and work processes.

Problem: In the previous projects (Taccle 1,2,3) digital competences of teachers at schools have been supported. Taccle4 CPD is going to develop strategies and models for ongoing further qualification (CPD). The ITB project work is focussing on teachers in the vocational training area.

Das Projekt fokussiert die pädagogische Ordnung im Unterricht berufsvorbereitender Bildungsgänge des sogenannten Übergangssystems zwischen allgemeinbildender Schule und beruflicher Erstausbildung. Dabei identifiziert, analysiert und systematisiert es pädagogische Praktiken, in denen das Verhalten von Jugendlichen in Institutionen der Berufsvorbereitung als unterrichtsrelevanter Gegenstand situativ hergestellt, ausgehandelt und bearbeitet wird.

The ICSAS project (“Integrating Companies in a Sustainable Apprenticeship System“) aims to give countries with no experience in work-based learning the opportunity to get a first-hand practical impression how this training system works. The sector chosen for this project is the footwear industry.

Problem: Besides research and teaching the so-called “Third Mission” is valid for universities, hence the interface design of university and society. Within the efforts for comparability of higher education, social competences turned out to a target dimension of the European Qualification Framework (EGR/EQF) as well as for the respective national qualification frameworks. Design of this learning field, respectively design of processes to reach this goal, is still pending, not clarified and in need of development. Objective: Project goal of DASCHE is to identify good practice in the context of the project and based upon it, the derivation of a common framework model for the implementation of social competence in higher education.

Problem: The development of entrepreneurial competences is not a regular feature of vocational education in Germany and other European countries. Accordingly, vocational schools and actors do not have the enabling environment, the necessary internal structures and competences required.

Problem: The BMBF as responsible resort is cooperating on the basis of bilateral agreements with selected partner countries and is moreover taking care with different instruments for the involvement of the actors responsible for vocational education into international vocational training cooperation.

Im Rahmen des Projekts KofeBS soll an vier berufsbildenden Schulen in Bremen ein Kompetenzfeststellungsverfahren entwickelt und erprobt werden. Die Zielgruppe besteht aus an- und ungelernten SGB II- und SGB III-Empfänger*innen sowie aus Beschäftigten ohne Berufsabschluss. Für diese sollen bedarfsgerecht individuelle Qualifizierungsmaßnahmen festgelegt werden, um sie auf eine Externenprüfung vorzubereiten. Das Projekt wird vom Europäischen Sozialfonds (ESF) gefördert und unter dem Dach des Landesprogramms „Weiter mit Bildung und Beratung“ des Senators für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Häfen durchgeführt.

Die Transport- und Logistikbranche durchläuft aufgrund der Digitalisierung der Arbeit und des Alltages grundlegende Wandlungsprozesse. Vor diesem Hintergrund entwickelt das BMBF-geförderte Projekt LaSiDig eine innovative Lernlösung für das Thema Ladungssicherung, die es Beschäftigten in Transport und Logistik ermöglicht, miteinander vernetzt und im Prozess der Arbeit zu lernen und sich wichtige Kompetenzen im Umgang mit digitalen Medien anzueignen. Ladungssicherung auf der Straße, der Schiene, zur See und in der Luft gilt es dabei zu beachten.
