Our Definition of Transfer

Based on the transfer concepts of the Wissenschaftsrat (German Science and Humanities Council) (2016), the Hochschulrektorenkonferenz (German Rectors' Conference) (2017) and the University of Bremen (2019), we define our understanding of transfer as follows: The research-based transfer activities of the Institute Technology and Education (ITB) include (1) participatory and partnership-based processes of (a) science communication in the sense of information and interaction / dialog, (b) knowledge development through education and training and consulting, and (c) knowledge application through project-based development and application with (2) actors outside the scientific field in society, education, business, culture and politics in order to (3) sustainably promote social development regionally, nationally and internationally (impact).
