Dehems

The DEHEMS project’s goal is to study determinants of Higher Education graduate’s early career success in selected professional domains and fields of study, and thus provide a starting point for safeguarding quality assurance mechanisms and principles at the different levels of higher education systems.

In this context, DEHEMS is addressing issues like, teaching modes, the role of key competences, the role of practice during studies, the role of employment guidance in the transition to the labour market, and students’ satisfaction with study programmes. An additional strand of DEHEMS’ research focuses on permeability between vocational education and training systems and higher education systems. In dealing with these issues through empirical work, the
DEHEMS project aims at differences and similarities among countries and professional domains.

The findings of DEHEMS research will provide different stakeholders in higher education management, such as higher education managers and support units as well as education policy makers (including quality assurance agencies), with evidence for improving higher education management and safeguarding the successful transition of graduates to employment.
