The project aims to support the successful application of the European Qualification Framework (EQF) by means of the development of application scenarios describing the conditions under which EQF use is expected to take place, namely the environments of national regulations and the description of favourable conditions as well as obstacles.

The basic approach of the project is to contrast possible scenarios of using the European Qualification Framework for various purposes, with the actual conditions of use to be expected from the statements of various stakeholders in the project partners' home countries: The European Qualification Framework, being in principle nothing more than a translation tool for describing qualifications set up in national or sector‐specific environments, can only be used to the extent which is determined by the quality of the interfaces between the EQF and national/sectoral systems of education and training, and these interfaces will finally be defined within discussions related to these systems.
