With a revenue share of about 60% of overall revenues and disproportionally high profit margins accidental damage repair is the most important column of an “average” running business in automotive dealers´ workshops.

Because of the growing control of the accidental damage repair section through insurance providers and assistance in a repair service this division has to be managed professionally in order to maintain the future opportunities to get orders for accidental damage repair jobs. The tasks of a collision damage repair manager (CDM) in a repair service are ranging from “pre‐crash‐marketing” over being permanently in contact with the automobile insurance providers to planning and controlling the whole accidental damage processing within the service.

Prior experiences in selected repair services show that the tasks mentioned above call for a qualified fulltime employee. In the project sector related studies will be used to point out the needs and to create an occupational profile of a CDM. Instruments as the European Qualifications Framework und Credit concepts will be used.
