3. Vocational Learning and Teaching

The aim of the vocational training represented by the ITB is that it should not be reduced to adapting learners to new requirements in the world of work. Rather, (prospective) skilled workers should be put in a position to take a responsible role in shaping and further developing skilled work. ITB research therefore focuses on the development, implementation and evaluation of competence-promoting, (work)process-oriented training and teaching projects (e.g. learning and work tasks). A special focus with regard to (technical) learning environments is placed on the target-oriented use of digital media. In addition, research also addresses issues of learning location cooperation and training partnerships as well as education management.
